an astonishing number of Good Eats episodes are Alton Brown making up a guy and getting mad at them
@BestGirlGrace in fairness, it's in the pursuit of educating people in basic food science,
but you're right and I cannot argue that
@LexYeen Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoy Good Eats, and Alton's takes are part of the texture of the show.
@BestGirlGrace I mean this is fundamentally his attitude, right? I'm right, you're wrong, and thus I get to make fun of you. So he just has to make up really entertaining steawmen to knock over
@junebug Yeah, it's a combination of an earnest desire to edutain and that Mike Judge "I'm the only one who's correct about everything, the world's gone mad" brain that manifests in "let's make up an evil chocolate sauce peddler" or "here's a strawlady who's wrong about fried foods".
Don't let the name fool you. All the pornography here is legal, and much of it is hand-written. No fascists, no bigots.
