breathing mask selfie, eye contact

things I learned:
- spray paint needs time to dry, often even more than the 10-30 minutes they put on the can
- the primer is extremely worth it, i probably should have done more
- doing it inside was absolutely the right decision, it meant I could actually wait for the paint to dry and do the right amount of shaking without having to worry about wind and rain
- the paint fumes were worth it

@BestGirlGrace that looks sick. Having just done a bunch of painting for myself I’d just say: 3-5 thin layers of primer with a 10-15 drying time between works great for adhesion & even colour, for more saturation with colour do the same, spraying too much at once makes a pooled uneven texture, many light coats are better. When outside, direct sunlight speeds up drying time a lot, but a hairdryer does just the same indoors, with no ill effects.

@BestGirlGrace also spray-on contact adhesive can be sprayed on the back of paper masking templates to make them adhere gently and evenly to a surface better than just taping edges

@sophistoche Thank you! Next time I do this, I'd definitely take my time more with the paint and primer instead of worrying about the wind and the rain.

@BestGirlGrace mind sharing your process and materials with me?? Im super interested in doing something similar to a denim vest ive been working on

@SuperGideon Oh, sure thing! The process was pretty ad hoc, but you can't argue with results. I wrote it up here because it was getting long and annoying to read in the post box.
